In 2019, the series' second collection is dedicated to the traditional genre of bird painting on porcelain. Portrayed in vibrant plumage, the kingfisher depicted on this dish stand in stark contrast to the elaborate surface design - a juxtaposition that is truly emblematic of the manufactory's claim to modern opulence. The painted image is applied by hand directly over the intricate surface reliefs - a particularly challenging technique that was first introduced in 2018. The detailed artwork celebrates the long-standing tradition of animal painting at MEISSEN, upholding its international renown for artisanal excellence.
