Cut Crystal - Volume - 180ml
In this category you will find hand cut crystal with traditional Czech cuts, which have belonged for hundreds of years to the family of typical Czech glass, with so-called rich cuts. Already during the Middle Ages, Czech glassmakers continued to perfect their craft and thanks to technological improvements, Czech glass became a sought-after commodity in the Transalpine Renaissance. Its fame rivalled that of the famous Venetian glass.
During the reign of Rudolf II, Czech glassmaking experienced a true renaissance. New technologies and processing techniques emerged, supported by the knowledge of Italian masters. Czech engraved and cut glass became a real concept, cutting as a decorative technique was then used mainly for natural stone in the form of glyptic (mainly engraving in rock crystal). The same or only slightly improved techniques of glass cutting are still used today.
Unfortunately, the number of true masters in glass cutting and engraving is still declining and this field may soon be irretrievably lost. A well-cut crystal will certainly not lose its value even in many years.
