CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE, a, s. specializes in the production of colored crystal with 24% PbO content, which is produced by combining a layer of clear crystal together with a layer of colored crystal at temperatures around 800 °C. This manufacturing process is at the peak of handmade capabilities and only the best and most skilled glassmakers can produce it. The difficulty of production is reflected in the fact that no method has yet been invented that would allow machine production

In the glassworks of CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE, this traditional work has been preserved to this day. Younger generations of glassmakers learn the skills of glassmaking from the older glass masters.

The basic raw materials used in glassmaking are glass sand, potash and limestone. Glass shards are also added to the glass cullet. Typical Caesar colours are fused with metal oxides. The current colour palette includes ruby, blue, violet, green and cyan. Quite exceptionally, black is also fused, but this is only suitable for certain shapes and decors. Each of our products must successfully pass through several quality control stages that follow each individual process. Only then does the product become a bearer of the CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE brand. Products that show any imperfections, often invisible to the naked eye, are cut and, in the case of white crystal or ruby red, reused in the melting of new glass.

The path to a glass product begins with the melting of the raw material into a hot mass, which only takes shape thanks to man. This is the glassmaker, who scoops some of the mass onto a glass whistle and gradually shapes and blows it into its original form.
Preparation of the crystal's colored component before the actual taking process.
The acceptance process - at a temperature of around 800°C, a flask of white crystal, which forms the basis of the product, is inserted into a pre-shaped coloured funnel.
The process continues with the moulding in a moist wooden mould, into which the glassmaker inserts the flask, which is then blown into its basic shape. The wooden moulds are changed regularly as they are in constant contact with the hot mass.
To facilitate the work of the cutters, guide lines are used to show the basic points of the decoration
By grinding the glass to different depths, using a natural or synthetic wheel, the grinder achieves the desired shape and design of each product
The polishing is the finishing touch to the entire production process. Here, each product is completely immersed in the polishing bath. This gives the product a shine that further enhances its beauty and splendour. A product receives the CAESAR CRYSTAL BOHEMIAE mark only when it successfully passes the quality control stages that take place during all the production processes.
